Description

This submission provides tables of monthly meteorological and geophysical data from Gloucestershire 1771-1813, and obtained in Stroud specifically from 1775-1813. The data provide rainfall (amounts and number of rain days), surface pressure, thunderstorm days, snow days and auroral nights.

The values have been extracted from the Weather diary of Thomas Hughes, a Gloucestershire surgeon and apothecary. The original diary belongs to the Royal Meteorological Society and is kept as three bound volumes in the National Meteorological Archive.
