1. ABOUT THE DATASET ------------ Title: Reversal learning reliability behavioural dataset Creator(s): Brendan Williams [1], Lily FitzGibbon [1,2], Daniel Brady [1,3] Organisation(s): 1. University of Reading, 2. University of Stirling 3. University of Sheffield Rights-holder(s): Brendan Williams, University of Reading, University of Stirling, University of Sheffield Publication Year: 2023 Description: This repository contains re-test data for a reversal learning task completed by 150 participants, and associated scripts for the analysis of the reliability of behavioural and computational model parameters. Participants completed 150 trials of the reversal learning task where they were presented with two visually distinguishable abstract stimuli and had to learn through experience which of these two choices were "better". Throughout the task the "better" choice would change, such that the "better" stimulus became the "worse" stimulus and vice versa. This repository also includes the scripts needed to replicate our analysis presented in the associated publication, including the calculation of reliability metrics, our bootstrap sensitivity analysis, generating plots, and statistical analysis. PROJECT AND FUNDING INFORMATION ------------ This research was supported by the Magdalen Vernon PhD Studentship of the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, University of Reading, awarded to Brendan Williams, a Gorilla Grant (Cauldron Science) awarded to Brendan Williams, and by the Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics (CINN), University of Reading. 4. CONTENTS ------------ This data archive contains two zip archives. The zip archive "data.zip" contains our behavioural data from a reversal learning task for our participants, and for the participants from Waltmann et al (2022), whose data we used in our analysis. This archive also includes fitted parameter estimates for our computational modelling of reversal learning performance. The zip archive "Scripts.zip" contain code used for our analyses in MATLAB and R. Subdirectories in each zip archive contain individual README files that describe the directory contents. The README files for the scripts archive includes instructions for how these scripts can be used to replicate our analysis. These scripts are provided WITHOUT warranty. 5. METHODS ----------- Please refer to our preprint available from https://doi.org/10.31234/osf.io/hzcdg for a detailed overview of our methods.
