Title: An Implicit Pictorial Report of Affective States
Description: The aim of this study was to develop a new tool for obtaining subjective reports of an individual's affective state. Unlike popular tools which require explicit reports of affect, this tool impliments an implicit approach whereby participants match their affective state to pre-tagged emotionally loaded visual stimuli. For each trial, participants were emotionally stimulated by a single target visual stimulus and then provided with nine affective stimuli to match their emotional state to. To validate the reliablity and accuracy of this approach, the absolute difference between the affective properties of the target and respective response image was assessed. The dataset contains information regarding both the images chosen and those presented to each participant.

DataObtained.xlsx: Data Obtained from the experiment including information regarding the nine images presented in each trial, the reported confidence level, image response and intial stimulus. Each sheet corresponds to a single participant, ranging from the first participant (p1) to the last participant (p23).
Information regarding the valence and arousal properties of each image and the IAPS ID tags was referenced from: P. J. Lang, M. M. Bradley, and B. N. Cuthbert. 2008. 5. METHOD and PROCESSING

The Experimental paradigm was implimented in MATLAB, and the Psychtoolbox (D.H.Brainard. 1997. The Psychophysics Toolbox. Spatial Vision 10:433-436; D.G.Pelli. 1997. Perception 36 ECVP Abstract Supplement) was used to ensure accruate input response and presentation of images.
