Terms and Conditions for Registered Users
Introduction
Registered Users are automatically registered with the Archive through their University account and can log in at the Reading Users link on the Archive interface using their University username and password.
By logging in to the Archive as a Registered User you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
Agreement
By using the University of Reading Research Data Archive (the Archive) as a Registered User, you agree:
- To provide to the Archive my name, a valid email address and other personal data as required by the Archive for processing in accordance with the purposes of its lawful business for as long as you continue to be a Registered User of the Archive;
- To permit the Archive to retain a record of your use of the Archive for legitimate purposes administration and reporting on Archive usage;
- To use the Archive and any content provided by the Archive only in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, with the Archive Policies, and with any conditions specified in licences attached to data files;
- To permit the Archive to contact you in relation to your use of the Archive, for the purposes of administration and reporting on use of the Archive;
- That any information supplied to you by the Archive will be used at your own risk and that you will not hold the Archive liable for any loss, injury or damage incurred as a result of your use of such information;
- That if you are found to have used the Archive in breach of these Terms and Conditions and relevant policies and licences the Archive may remove your account and you will cease to be a Registered User of the Archive.
Use of your personal data the University
Personal data supplied by Registered Users will be retained and processed fairly and lawfully by the University for the sole purposes of Archive business in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act (1998).
By using the Archive as a Registered User you grant the University permission to use the personal data supplied by you:
- For internal validation and administration purposes, as required by the Archive Administrators;
- For any other fair and lawful purposes of Archive administration.
You will continue to be a Registered User of the Archive and to supply your personal details to the Archive as long as you remain a registered member of the University and have a University account. You may request the removal of your personal details from the Archive at any time after your University account has been deleted.
Notices
Any notice may be delivered in writing to the email address supplied by you and shall be deemed to have been served when confirmation of receipt is received from your email system. If no reply is received to a notice under this Agreement, your consent to any notified action will be deemed to have been given after thirty (30) days have elapsed from the issue of the notice.
