Valuing insect pollinators for UK apple production

How to cite this Dataset

Description

Data on the effectiveness of different pollinator taxa for apple pollination collected from flight cage manipulations record the effects of different numbers of floral visits by four pollinator species on fruit set and seed set in apples. Field data on flower visitation to different varieties of UK apple orchards in Kent are recorded as number of visits made by different pollinator taxa during transect walks or stationary observations. Data from experimental manipulations to determine the dependence on insect pollination of these apple varieties record fruit set, seed set and apple quality between open pollinated and pollinator-excluded treatments.
